Recently, China General Administration of Customs issued the Decree No. 183, publishing the amended Method for Implementing the Regulations of Customs Protection of Intellectual Property, which was adopted by China General Administration of Customs on February 17, 2009 and will be enacted as of July 1, 2009.

The Method consists of 43 Articles in 6 Chapters, i.e. General Provisions, Intellectual Property Recordal, Application-based Detainment of Suspected Goods, Empowered investigation, Treatment of Suspected Goods, Costs and Supplementary Provisions. It is clearly stated that the Chinese customs will protect the logo of World Exhibition in accordance with this method.

Meanwhile, the current method, which was issued by China General Administration of Customs on May 25, 2004, shall be abolished as of the day when the amended method is enacted.
